Sole Dimensions Moves to New, Larger Location

(Wake Forest, N.C., March 12, 2014) — Sole Dimensions, a total foot-care store based in Wake Forest, has moved to a new, larger retail location. The store carries an array of products that help maximize sports performance and relieve pain through preventative foot health, shoes, orthotics, video gait analysis, arch supports and other foot-care and sports accessories.

EllieSoleDimensionsLocated at 10560 Ligon Mill Road, Suite 101, behind the Walmart Supercenter in Wake Forest, the store moved a short distance across the street from its previous location to occupy 1,500-square-feet in the Ligon Mill Office Plaza. Developed by Lloyd’s of Wake Forest, the office park is occupied by a doctor’s office, salon/spa and the new location of Orthopedic Physical Therapy Associates in the suite next door.

The newly constructed building allows Sole Dimensions to offer a larger selection of running shoes, hydration/nutrition and trigger-point therapy products. A growing selection of lifestyle footwear is also available including sandals as well as casual, dressy and orthopedic-style shoes.

Certified Pedorthist Ellie Penner owns and operates Sole Dimensions. Penner opened the business in Wake Forest in 2009 and was named the 2013 Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce Rising Star Business of the Year for her entrepreneurial spirit and community involvement. She is an active sponsor of many local running and triathlon events including the Hallowed Half Marathon/10K and the Gobbler’s Run.

“This is the only professionally staffed footwear and athletic specialty store within 20 minutes of Wake Forest,” says Penner, who provides foot assessments and comprehensive plans to improve patients’ ability to walk, run and move pain-free. She works with runners of all abilities and also designs running programs through the store’s Sole Striders training groups.

A native of Canada, Penner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in Ontario and received intensive training in foot mechanics, footwear and orthotics at the beginning of her career. She furthered her education at the Dr. Scholl School of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago and became a certified pedorthist.

With more than 25 years of experience in foot analysis and the design and fit of footwear, Penner uses state-of-the art assessment methods of biomechanics, anatomy and gait to identify improper foot function and find corrective supports and footwear that provide relief and comfort. “We serve a number of customers all with the goal of taking their soles to a new dimension,” Penner adds.
